Premium apple watch repairs at an affordable price
We have been working on and providing repairs for the Apple Watch since the release of the Original Apple Watch Series in 2015. We carry out many repairs from glass only repair services through to battery replacements and digital crown repairs on a daily basis, with quick turnaround times and great prices. We are also one of very few repair businesses in the UK that will reseal the iWatch to a liquid resistant standard thanks to our extensive and in depth testing before we started offering glass only repairs to Apple Watch devices.
How do we go about replacing just the glass when the glass and LCD panel are bonded together?
Replacing just the glass on a damaged Apple Watch is an intricate process requiring not only advanced equipment and machinery but a highly skilled and knowledgeable technician who can delicately remove just the damaged layer of glass from the LCD panel below. Firstly, we test the iWatch display to ensure that the OLED display panel is showing the image perfectly with no lines, black spots or other blemishes. Once testing is complete, we use heat and isopropyl alcohol to carefully remove the display from the iWatch pebble. Next, we use diamond coated plated to delicately file down the curvature on each side of the iWatch to enable our technician to carefully insert 0.01mm wire into the correct layer of the display. If your touch is working, we’ll opt to keep your existing touch layer, if your touch is faulty or damaged, we’ll remove and replace this at the same time.
Once the glass has been carefully removed from the iWatch, we start cleaning the OLED display until it is perfectly clean with no residual glue. Once the cleaning is complete, we carefully align the new glass to the OLED panel and put the display into our Oca Master Laminating press. The laminator then pulls a strong vacuum for around 80 seconds until it then presses the glass to the OLED panel with little to no bubbles in the OCA glue. After this, we inspect the display to ensure perfect touch calibration and alignment and put the iWatch display into our Autoclave pressure chamber. The Autoclave then increases the pressure to around 6 bar and ensures that no little bubbles remain in the OCA glue.
Once the display has been laminated and all bubbles removed, we apply a thin layer of liquid resistant adhesive and clamp the display back to the pebble for a minimum of 24 hours to ensure a perfect factory finish!
